CBCF ALC - And Still I Rise

2017

And Still I Rise is a powerful and evocative concept designed for the 2017 Congressional Black Caucus Foundation Annual Legislative Conference (CBCF ALC). The concept centers around resilience, empowerment, and the enduring spirit of African American communities, drawing inspiration from Maya Angelou’s iconic poem “Still I Rise.” This theme captures the strength and perseverance of Black individuals and communities throughout history, highlighting their ongoing struggle for equality, justice, and empowerment despite the barriers they face.

The design integrates bold imagery, symbolic representations of strength, and uplifting visual elements to convey themes of hope, defiance, and pride. Through a rich color palette, dynamic visuals, and a blend of contemporary and historical references, the concept aims to inspire attendees, provoke thought, and foster a sense of unity. The intent is to not only honor the past but to celebrate the continued journey towards progress and resilience, reminding us all that no matter the challenges, “And Still I Rise.”
